Meet the Team
Jenny Moore
We’re continuing our Meet the Team series with the newest Director on the team, Jenny Moore. With a background in marketing and PR, Jenny officially joined Crescar as Director of Production and Quality in March 2026, having worked with the company as an associate prior to that. We sat down with Jenny to learn more about her journey with Crescar and growing up between the hills of Scotland and the coasts of Oman.
Interviewer: First things, first – congrats on the new role at Crescar!
Jenny: Thank you
Interviewer: You’ve been working with the company for a while?
Jenny: Yes, I’ve known Russell Watmore since his time at Serco, where I often consulted on projects. When he and Mark Kipling established Crescar six years ago, I supported the team as an associate on bids.
Interviewer: And do you think your marketing background has had an impact on the role you have today?
Jenny: Without a doubt. I’ve always been a writer, and I have a strong editorial background. In marketing, the challenge is to take complex ideas and shape them into a narrative that the target audience can understand and deliver that on relevant channels. Bid writing is no different. Creating a strategy based on objectives and extracting valuable information from different stakeholders and subsequently bringing that to life by crafting a compelling story for the evaluator, is something I really enjoy.
Interviewer: Tell me about the transition from associate to Director.
Jenny: I’ve always enjoyed working with Crescar. Despite being a fully remote team based in different corners of the world, we have a shared understanding of what we’re trying to achieve. Everyone works at the very top of their game. That energy is infectious and consistently provides stand-out results for our clients.
The philosophy of doing good work for good people at a high-quality standard is something I naturally champion, and so the transition to Production and Quality Director was really quite natural.
Interviewer: Tell me more about the role. What does it entail?
Jenny: My background in marketing and PR plays a big part here. When it comes to communication and writing, the focus must be on the customer and the core message we want to get across to the prospective buyer. Maintaining high standards of quality supported by process and appropriate tools ensures we build from a solid foundation. Without the right structures in place, a project can lack clarity and direction, and it doesn’t take long for things to derail when the right process is skipped in favour of speed.
Interviewer: And the day-to-day?
Jenny: Right now, the focus is on building the team, so I’m spending a lot of time recruiting, training and onboarding. Going forward, mentorship will play a large part in my role as I move away from day-to-day active bid writing to overseeing the full process and ensuring that all our output is high quality, compliant, and meets client requirements. Most importantly, I want to make sure team members are happy in their work and able to put into practice everything we’re training them to do.
Interviewer: What are your ambitions for the role this year?
Jenny: By the end of the year, I’d like to have the team fully recruited, trained, and operating to the standards we set for ourselves and our wider network. What’s important to me is that we continuously raise the bar, building on our capabilities and strengths, bedding in our writers, and establishing a quality community across the business. That means setting clear standards, collaborating on quality expectations, and sharing best practices, so that our clients feel the difference in everything we produce. As a growing company, we have ambitions to take on more work and bring more people into the fold, and I’m excited to play my part in that.
One of the best things about bid writing is that the core principles remain the same regardless of industry, so that transferable quality is exactly what we look for as the team grows. For me, the most important attributes are collaboration and attention to detail. We work with highly technical subject matter experts, which means we need to understand the complexity of what they do and craft an engaging narrative for the end client.
Interviewer: And finally, on a lighter note – you grew up between Oman and Scotland. Tell me about your experience of Oman.
Jenny: It was honestly brilliant. Oman is such an undiscovered gem. The people are kind and hospitable, and it has a bit of everything; beautiful long coastlines, sprawling mountains, and so much in between. Whether you enjoy water sports, beaches or culture, Oman is a wonderful country to visit. I’d highly recommend it.
